20 X2007 / "Motion" best song at the ADE
Laurent & Lewis's track "Motion" got chosen as the best song of the Demolition contest saturday the 20th at the Amsterdam Dance Event by DJ and techno gods Dave Clarke (UK) and Kevin Saunderson (Detroit, Michigan), and by the Dutch DJ Dylan Hermelijn.
Just released by a brand new record label, Cherry Juice Recordings (a sub-label from Wallshaker Music, Detroit), "Motion" is co-produced by Detroit House diva Aaron-Carl and Amsterdam politician of French origin Laurent Chambon. "Motion" has been released digitally and on vinyl 12" record. The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is the most important electronic and dance music event in Europe. The Demolition contest is very feared, since DJs judging are merciless.
Laurent & Lewis is an Amsterdam-based duet made of American-Portuguese Lewis de Janeiro and Frenchman Laurent Chambon. They have been performing in the underground scenes of Amsterdam, Paris and Oslo. Their music is a mix of European melodies with a strong American groove. They have already remixed very different artists like Youssou N'dour (Senegal), Aaron-Carl (Detroit), Pacha Hristova (Bulgaria) or Mariza (Portugal).

11 IV 2007 / CJR001 coming out
Whole CJR002 is already out in the States (Hanky Panky "Want My Body"), it's now CJR001's turn to come out in the States and in Europe on vinyl. The gorgeous label has been made by Pierre Marly, Cherry Juice Recordings' head of design. The record is co-produced by Aaron-Carl and mixed by the vinyl Detroit legend Ron Murphy: incredible sound, beautiful label! 

08 IV 2007 / Motion Instrumental for Peugeot
The instrumental version of "Motion" (the original version is coming out soon on vinyl and already available on iTunes) is now used for an online commercial for Peugeot cars in France. The beat was made by Detroit House Diva Aaron-Carl.

Loads of concerts and sets ahead of us: the 30th of October, Laurent will play again in the heart of the Red Light District of Amsterdam this sunday, at the Argos SOS Party! Hard music and Butch Bitches on the program of the infamous "SOS-SEX ON SUNDAY".
On the 1st of December Laurent & Lewis are giving a charity concert at the LoveDance party (Paradiso). L.A. artist extraordinair Linda Lamb is finally going to release "Party Spirit" on Tampopo's label SSS, with no less than 2 remixes: Laurent & Lewis's Staphorst remix, and Laurent & The Gurliboyz Cheezipoof remix. Inspired by Northern Dutch popular music (Staphorst is a fondamentalist protestant town where music is forbidden and where young people assemble secretly to drink beer and listen to vulgar trance), the L&L Staphorst can be seen as an exercise in old school techno. Inspired by NYC classic House music, the Cheezipoof remix is the result of Laurent & Lewis's collaboration with Mongolian Queer duet the Gurliboyz. Very danceable, very House!

More than thirty years after its release in Bulgaria, Pasha Hristova's enormous hit 'Edna Bulgarska Roza' (The Only Bulgarian Rose) is alive again, thanks to Laurent & Lewis. In their 2004 Acid House meets Big Beat edit of this masterpeace from the Sovietic era, Pasha is back on the dancefloors.

►Some history... Pacha Hristova (born 1946) died December 21st 1971 in a plane crash, aged 25. The year before she received the first price of the Zlatniat Orphei Festival for the song "Edna Bulgarska Roza". She started a promissing carrieer at the age of 19 years old while working as an industrial draughtswoman. 30 of the 70 plane passengers died, amongst which a lot of famous Bulgarian artists going to Algeria. Exactly thirty years later, in 2001, 7 children died in the 'Indigo' discotheque in Sofia.
